When is Prophecy the right solution?
Prophecy is the Data Transformation Copilot. It lets all data users run workflows natively on your cloud data platform. It is the right solution when you need:
Visual interface with AI. Prophecy provides a familiar visual pipeline development interface where expressions to transform data can be developed with a visual expression builder. Prophecy adds Copilot AI that converts text prompts into expressions. Copilot AI also recommends next steps, generates pipelines from text prompts, and automatically generates tests and documentation.
Native and well-governed. Prophecy runs natively on your cloud data platform such as Databricks, respecting the governance already established through tools like Unity Catalog. Running natively on the full dataset also ensures that from the start, pipelines are not missing any corner cases, can run at scale, and require no extra work to move to production.
Open and extensible. Prophecy does not lock you in. The visual pipelines instantly turn into native code: SQL (with dbt-core as build tool) or Spark with Python or Scala (with sbt as the build tool). This code is stored on your git and deployed to your data platform with your orchestrator. Prophecy provides a simple visual experience on top of this process. You can quickly and easily add new functionality through new visual components called gems.

The cost of rewriting pipelines for scale and production is high in terms of data engineering resources, time, and then iteration when the first rewrite doesn’t handle all the corner cases. When is Prophecy not the right solution?
Here are the things we do not provide.
Dashboarding - Prophecy is focused solely on data transformation, and it comes with a visual operator library to support pipeline development. Customers can add a visual operator library focused on advanced analytics or deliver advanced analytics with separate visualization tools.
Desktop processing Prophecy does not have a processing engine of its own and runs natively on your data platform. Thus there is no desktop processing available.
